The boy knew that the girl at the brook was the great grand daughter of Choshi [one of titles of old Korean noblemen] Yoon as soon as he saw her. She was playing with the water putting her hands in the brook, like she had never seen this kind of brook in Seoul.
It has been days since she dabbled in water on her way home. She was on the bank near the brook until yesterday. Today she is sitting right on the middle of stepping stones.
The boy sat down on the bank, waiting for the girl to move aside. To his relief, she stepped aside when someone passed through.
On the next day he came out little later than before. She was washing her face sitting on the stepping stones. The girl in pink sweater rolled her sleeves up and her hands were snowy.

After washing her face for a while, now she is staring inside the water. Probably mirroring her face. Suddenly she grabs the water as if she tries to catch a fry.
Little girl realize or not there is a boy sitting by the brook, she keeps trying to catch fry swiftly. She fails again and again. She grabs the water that way as if it is fun. It looks like she would only clear the way if someone crosses over like yesterday.
Then she picks up something in the water. It was a white pebble. She gets up with a jump and gives a spring across over the stepping stones.
After walking all the way across the brook, she turns her back on a sudden.
"You, fool." The white pebble was flown over.
He sprang up without being aware of it.

She ran into a path among the reeds with her short hair fluttering. Reed flowers were glittering in the autumn sunshine.
She will show up soon from there. It feels like time has passed quite long. She is not showing up. He stands on tiptoe. Time keeps going by thereafter.
A handful of reed flowers moved at the farther side of the field. She had a bunch of them in her arms. She walked slowly. Clear and bright autumn sunshine glittered on the flowers she held. It looked like it was the bunch of flowers walked along the road, not the girl.
The boy stood still until he could not see the flowers. He suddenly looked down the pebble she threw. It was all dried up. He picked the pebble and put it in his pocket.
